Youth Innovation: Mental Well-being Campaign!

In response to the growing issues relating to mental well-being among our young people, our youth team launched the mental well-being campaign with a range of different partners at the end of last year. The campaign has three objectives, namely:

  • Emphasizing the importance of mental health and psychosocial support for young people.
  • Sharing of best practice.
  • To explore if there are any policy level interventions required that would make it easier for the delivery and uptake of youth focused psychosocial support.

We are so thankful to have nearly 40 organisations from all sectors signed up as partners to date and we encourage anybody who is interested to keep an eye on our social media campaign content. We kicked off this year by releasing a few articles that we believe provide a great overview of the existing issues as well as potential solutions – starting with this paper by Gibson Mudiriza, Ariane De Lannoy, and Youth Capital here entitled ‘Youth in the time of a global pandemic: An analysis of recent data on young people’s experiences during COVID-19’.

We will be looking to share a lot more content and data throughout this year and have a number of exciting workshops planned; including one on 10th of March which will be led by EMpower from 09:30 – 11:30 (more details to follow).
