We began the month marking Labour Day, a timely reminder of the tireless efforts of the people who power JA Africa’s mission.
Our impact wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of staff, partners, board members, and our network of volunteers across the continent who champion the cause of developing the next generation of African leaders.
Thank you for all you do to keep the dream alive.
Shortly after, I celebrated a significant personal milestone: my 50th birthday.
I remain deeply moved by the outpouring of love from across the globe. From the stunning pre-birthday choral serenade by the Harmonious Chorale Ghana (thank you, Akosua!) to the heartfelt messages, videos, and tributes from friends, family, colleagues, and partners, I felt truly seen and cherished.
I’m especially grateful to my JA family Asheesh Advani, Caroline Jenner, Tamara Silva, Camille Blair, Charles Muyiwa, Niyi Yusuf, Salvatore Nigro, and so many others for making the day so memorable (yes, I watched the surprise video and loved every second of it!).
