PEO EA HLAHO: SEED OF LIFE is about Harmonic Health, Spiritual Wellness Coaching, and Nutritional advise.
Spoke to Founder at Peo Ea Hlalo: Seed of Life Nkgono Matshidiso about her spiritual journey thus far.
Tell about your early life, professional development, and your spiritual journey?
My professional development took an interesting change. I had to change the way I viewed my company (Peo Ea Hlaho: Seed of life) and include my spiritual know how as a Traditional healer and uGobela (Initiator). My spiritual journey was a rough one especially when you must delete people who are negative and using you to remain clear ad steadfast in this journey. As a child I was plagued with sickness often missed weeks at school sometimes just foresee and told what would happen little did I know that was the start of my calling which old people refer to “Meleko”.
What does your role mean to you and what you do Daily?
My role means a lot to me as the one chosen and born with this gift meaning I carry my ancestors with me. I need to be a good example, treat my body, mind and spirit good all the time and be clean spiritually and eat clean food. I didn’t understand nor wanted the call, as I grew up in a family that doesn’t embrace culture nor tradition. It was looked down and frowned upon, as it was labelled as demonic. My day starts at three when I bathe the burn sage and incense sticks, light candles, I do libation (ukuphahla) and prayer and clean my shrine (indumba). I prepare my daughter to get her to school. To see to my patients, I open for my clinic at 08:30.
What are your currently working on and what can we expect from you going forward?
I’m currently working on my Holistic Company (PEO EA HLAHO):
Seed of Life) revamping it to include service in spiritual matter. I’m a qualified personal trainer and nutritional adviser and used to be an Amateur to Professional Boxer Trainer and trained as one myself. Peo ea Hlaho offers consultation, Spiritual awareness and awakening, offers personalised service according to your needs whether you want to lose weight or learn about eating clean and how that affects your spirituality.
What initiative (if implemented) would leave the greatest impact for you?
For the boy child to be more secure, be more caring, be respectful and honour his dignity, and learn our ways of doing things, for this boy child would one day marry our daughter and become the head of the household and raise a family.
What would you change if you had powers in the world?
People perception on faith, religion and science, especially African faith which is the original Judaism. Faith is something that we believe in, even if we can’t see we believe there is a high source, a powerful crown that run things. Some of us call him God others Allah, Messiah, Thlathlamatjholo, Thixo. Others find this source by decoding numbers while others need to kneel and pray, while most African find this very same source in nature. Whatever name you label this source is what we are coded and driven to believe in. We worship in our thought, sleep, when we mediate, we are trying to get to this high power. Now religion is something that we do like going to church, indumba to perform libation to drown your sorrows and believe that you are heard. Science is the matter that proves everything that we do, you can’t have faith and not incorporate science, it has proved that from a drop of water we are made from that same drop when a cow drinks it gives us milk. It’s the same alchemy that we use when combining medicine. How wonderful is Science when it can even prove that we sangomas are living prove that past, present and future are parallel with each other.
How would people describe you as a Spiritual Leader?
Prayer leads to faith in that miracles are borne and in borne in us. Faith always plays a part in our daily lives, for everyday there is a temptation that will tempt your will power, I sometimes go on imposed spiritual retreat when I need to clear my mind of all things that are city life based this rat race is killing us and driving ourselves away from the truth. My initiates (amathwasana) will be the ones to describe me better. I know I can be very strict about following the ways of the ancestors as no initiate is the same. They should be treated with respect and dignity as this is a spiritual journey and its hard on one’s soul.
What is the legacy you want to leave by the time you retire?
I would love to be a Sage, like those old folks of Egypt, and let people be guided by God’s law and let them search for the truth for its there in your eyes but for some reason we refuse to believe or trust ourselves to follow it. Ultimately nobody wants to be unique, we all walking around being a copycat of somebody. In that we are insulting the high source for it made us unique and we should embrace that.
How does your Spirituality contribute to the community?
In my community at first people were not open to the fact that they have a traditional healer as their neighbour, some still have scornful looks, some even told their kids to stop playing with my daughter, so honestly, I just let people be what they want, but I refuse to conform to their norm just to make them comfortable.
What are your highs on your spiritual journey?
My highs are when I consult folks whether it’s for personal training or “Hohlola” Bone throwing and seeing people getting the result they wanted.
When you not working what do you get up to, including family life?
I read when am free, play with our daughter, we do yoga together, or just watch movies as a family, or relax with my husband and have a glass of wine.
