It’s always great to see a South African production doing so well that it comes back for another run, and having seen Sarajevo last week, I can highly recommend it.
Winner of four Naledi Theatre Awards, including Best Production and Best Director, it’s a powerful and beautifully performed story of three childhood friends whose lives are torn apart as Yugoslavia descends into war.
Aimée Mica Komorowsky, Ivan Nedeljkovic, Damon Berry and André Lötter deliver strong, moving performances as the play explores friendship, love, identity and what happens when neighbours suddenly find themselves on opposing sides. Its return by popular demand is well deserved.
