We believe that effective advocacy involves the beneficiaries, as their participation is not only essential, but crucial. Earlier last week, our team visited Wassa and Kabusa communities in the FCT on the “promoting an accountable education sector” project. With support from Christian Aid, the YouthHubAfrica team paid a visit to community leaders in the Wassa, and the Kabusa community, respectively, in the FCT. The advocacy visit was a platform to engage community leaders and members in assessing the present state of Basic Education, especially girls’ education in their communities, and the need to hold the government accountable for education expenditure in the state.
We received a warm welcome from the community leaders who expressed their interest in working with us to ensure the project comes to fruition and their expectations are met. ‘Young people should look beyond political parties and challenge policies and systems that place youth participation at a disadvantage’- Dr. Joe Abah The 11th episode of the YouthHubAfrica Knowledge Management Series was not just interactive but enlightening. We hosted Dr Joe Abah, Country Director, DAI, as he shared his thoughts on Nigeria and the urgency for reforms. |
