In Blikkiesdorp, situated in Delft, near Cape Town, a new buy-back centre kicked off with a bang recently, with Petco’s first on-site activation drawing quite a crowd curious about earning money through collecting (LBP) liquid board packaging and PET plastic packaging.
The team explained how the centre worked, encouraging experienced and new waste pickers to add LBP to their collection bags.
Asking many questions, attendees kept us on our toes throughout the event. One suggestion we’ll definitely consider is to spread future activations over a longer period. The two days were simply not enough.
