Prof Narnia Bohler-Muller
Narnia (BJuris LLB LLM LLD) is the Divisional Executive of the Developmental, Capable and Ethical State (DCES) at the Human Sciences Research Council.
She has represented South Africa as the lead of the Women20 and at international forums for BRICS and the Indian Ocean Rim Association. With a career that spans more than 26 years, she has made significant strides in research and academia. Her research interests include international and constitutional law, gender, human rights, democracy, governance and social justice.
Narnia says: “One of our primary goals is to capture and maintain the focus of influential leaders, decision-makers, and policymakers on gender equality and women’s empowerment. We aim to drive meaningful change that improves the lives of all women by presenting clear, evidence-based facts – demonstrating that when women thrive, our economies and societies flourish.
“Recognising the importance of care work, halting violence against women, prioritising women’s health, empowering women with land ownership, and addressing the impacts of climate change and technological advancements all contribute not only to the betterment of women’s lives but also to our collective well-being.”
