A recent environmental careers expo in Langa in Cape Town gave local learners a fresh look at future possibilities – especially in the growing sustainability sector.
Organised by the Womandla Foundation, Langa Baptist Church and Cape Careers Exhibition Association (CCEA), the event aimed to broaden learners’ career horizons beyond the usual paths.
Petco brought the recycling story to life with real samples on display, and learners were intrigued – especially when they realised how packaging they’d usually toss could be reborn as entirely new products and packaging.
The recycling value chain is just one part of a much broader sustainability sector, in which the opportunities are endless. Keeping young people informed about possibilities in the sector helps us in advancing the circular economy of tomorrow.
