It gives us great pleasure to announce the appointment of Jill Dyers as our new Head of Strategic Projects and EPMO.
Jill will play a crucial role in providing strategic direction and driving operational efficiency. She will oversee the effective planning, execution, and delivery of the Bank’s strategic projects and programmes.
This role includes leading the establishment and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards to create a governance framework that supports project delivery across the Bank.
Jill will work closely with executive leadership across the Bank to ensure that programme outcomes are aligned with our strategic goals.
The EPMO, led by Jill, act as secretariat to the Investment Management Committee (IMC) and serves as a catalyst for organisational change by enabling projects that drive innovation, operational improvement, and competitive advantage. She has experience in leading enterprise-wide strategic projects portfolio, overseeing a team of programme and project managers, business analysts (permanent and contracted), administrators and third-party service providers.
Jill joined African Bank in December 2022 as a Senior Banker on Project Y, the UBank integration programme, where she led key workstreams in people and change. She later supported the Meta-V project under the Digital Transformation programme, leading the Business Integration stream. She is a seasoned expert in organisational transformation and a strategic thinker who excels in leading large-scale initiatives.
Jill brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, with deep expertise across personal and business banking, programmme and project management, human capital management, and transformation consulting. She began her career at FNB in 1998 as an ATM custodian, progressing through several branch and operational roles. Her dedication to organisational culture and change led her to spearhead various transformation initiatives early on.
In 2008, she joined Absa in the Free State, where she rose to become Head of Human Resources for Business Banking Africa. During her tenure, she held a variety of business and customer-facing roles that sharpened her commercial focus and deepened her understanding of customer value management.
Jill is known for her strategic thinking and has built a career around large-scale transformation programmes. Her ability to align people, process and purpose makes her uniquely equipped to lead the Strategic Projects and EPMO portfolio at African Bank.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and a Master’s in Business Leadership from UNISA.
