MEC and Minister Conduct Site Visit to Soul City Informal Settlement for Ground-breaking Alternative Sanitation Project

Mogale City: MEC Tasneem Motara, accompanied by Minister of Human Settlements, Ms. Mmamoloko Kubayi, conducted a site visit today at the Soul City Informal Settlement to witness the ground-breaking Alternative Sanitation Project first-hand. The visit aimed to provide an introduction to the innovative sanitation device, highlighting its implications for sanitation improvement and the myriad benefits it offers to the local community.
During the visit, both the MEC and the Minister observed significant progress in the implementation of the project, which has already seen over 400 toilets fitted in the area. The contractor showcased a variant of the toilet designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, emphasizing the project’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
MEC Motara expressed her satisfaction with the advancements made thus far, stating, “The progress we have seen today is a testament to our commitment to improving sanitation in our communities. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to clean and safe sanitation facilities.”
