The year 2021 marks a major milestone in the life of the South African nation; it marks the 25th Anniversary of the adoption of our country’s democratic Constitution.
On 27 April 2021, the President announced to the nation that the country will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Constitution. This follows Cabinet’s approval of the commemorative programme led by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. The government as a whole, as well as civil society and communities at large, will take the opportunity and collaborate to mark the occasion.
The commemoration of the anniversary will also be used to promote a common vision for unity in diversity and strengthen the culture of respect for human rights and the rule of law in South Africa.
