Rachel Bukasa is a respected leader in the fields of law and human rights. She studied at the University of Cape Town, earning degrees in law and a master’s in international law and human rights. She is the executive director of the Black Sash.
Bukasa says: “Women, especially in the Global South, carry the weight of unpaid and underpaid labour that sustains economies but remains invisible in fiscal policy. The care economy must be funded, formalised and protected.”
