The chairperson of Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate Allegations made by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, Soviet Lekganyane, says they have assured private investigator Paul O’Sullivan that strict security measures will be in place for his appearance before the committee.
The committee is investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption, and political interference in South Africa’s criminal justice system.
O’Sullivan Denies Avoiding Parliament
Last month, O’Sullivan said he was not avoiding Parliament. In November last year, inviting me to go to Parliament, I replied the next morning and said, ‘It will be a great pleasure to testify because there are things that need to be out there,’” he told Crime Watch on eNCA.
The forensic investigator was due to appear before the committee last week but did not, citing serious security concerns. He told the committee in January that statements by KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi had put his life at risk.
