This Women’s Month, SimplyBiz is launching a special pilot project to celebrate the women entrepreneurs who are building resilient businesses and creating meaningful impact in their communities and economy.

We are looking for 16 women business leaders based in Cape Town to participate in this unique initiative.

Selected participants will be professionally photographed by renowned photographer Belia-Oh and featured in a special campaign during 16 Days of Activism, running from 25 November to 10 December 2026.

Why this project matters

When we talk about economic resilience, we often focus on numbers and statistics.

But behind every successful business is a woman making difficult decisions, overcoming challenges, creating opportunities, supporting families, and building stronger communities.

This project is built around a simple but powerful message:

When a woman builds a business, she builds more than income. She builds options, safety, voice, and futures.

Through photography and storytelling, we want to highlight the women whose businesses are helping shape a stronger and more inclusive economy.

About the pilot

This is a Cape Town-based pilot project designed to showcase a diverse group of women entrepreneurs and to better understand how storytelling can amplify the voices of women in business.

The learnings from this pilot will help inform future initiatives that celebrate and support women entrepreneurs across South Africa.

Who should apply?

We are looking for women who:

  • Own or lead a business in Cape Town
  • Have demonstrated resilience and determination in their entrepreneurial journey
  • Are creating a positive impact through their business
  • Are willing to participate in a professional photoshoot
  • Would like to share their story to inspire other women

Businesses of all sizes and industries are welcome to apply.

What selected participants will receive

  1. A pre-shoot interview to share their entrepreneurial journey and business story
  2. Professional hair and makeup styling ahead of the photoshoot
  3. A guided 90-minute portrait session with acclaimed photographer Belia-Oh
  4. Professional portraits using two outfits of their choice
  5. Three professionally edited digital images for personal and business use
  6. One professionally framed portrait print
  7. Two additional archival-quality mounted prints
  8. A feature in a commemorative magazine showcasing all 16 women and their stories
  9. A profile feature in the SimplyBiz 16 Days of Activism campaign
  10. Exposure across SimplyBiz communication and social media channels.
  11. Total value per participant: R9,450.

This is more than a photoshoot. It is an opportunity to celebrate your entrepreneurial journey, amplify your story, and become part of a powerful collection of women who are building resilient businesses and stronger communities.

16 Women. 16 Stories.

This Women’s Month, we’re looking for women whose stories deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

If you’re building more than a business and helping create opportunities for others along the way, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications are now open for Cape Town women entrepreneurs.
