Across generations, they have played vital roles in protecting their lands and territories, preserving languages and traditions, strengthening communities, and advocating for human rights, gender equality and peace.
Yet their voices and leadership have too often gone unrecognised.
On Saturday’s first-ever International Day of the World’s Indigenous Women and Girls, we join the call to amplify their voices and stand with them in the fight for their rights and rightful place at the table where decisions are made.
