We’re pleased to announce that applications for the SAB Foundation Social Innovation and Disability Empowerment Awards 2026 are now open.
These awards support innovators and social enterprises that are actively developing practical solutions to real social and disability-related challenges in South Africa.
Award funding ranges from R300 000 to R1.3 million, and awardees are also placed on a tailored mentorship and business development programme to help strengthen and scale their work.
What we’re looking for
Early-stage businesses or innovations with working prototypes that can solve a clear social problem.
Disability-focused innovations that enable persons with disabilities to access meaningful economic opportunities, including assistive technologies, training, and job creation.
Applicants who have already invested time or resources into developing their solution and can show real progress beyond the idea stage.
