Children as young as 5 years old can be diagnosed with Mental Health issues such as Depression and Anxiety. Mental Health in children is just as important as physical health – children too can feel big emotions such as anxiety, stress, depression, grief and trauma.
Children don’t always have the language or words to explain how they feel or the understanding of why they feel a certain way. As parents, teachers, and caregivers, our role is to help them navigate all the big emotions and empower them with coping skills as they grow and develop.
This week’s LIVE online “Ask the Expert” will help Parents, Teachers, and Caregivers with meaningful, practical, and emotional support tips and tools to help children deal with anxiety, stress, trauma and even sadness. Experts will share how to identify signs and symptoms of “normal” moods versus something to be concerned about, where to get help, as well as coping mechanisms and if you are a parent or a caregiver and would like some insight on Children’s Mental Health.
Join us TODAY, Friday the 20th of January 2023 for our weekly online live video chat on “Ask the Expert ” on our Facebook page at 1 PM. We will be joined by experts, Dr. Terri Henderson (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist), Lebo Mareletse (Clinical Psychologist), and Lungile Mangena (Clinical Psychologist). They share important information with us and answer your questions LIVE – Please encourage friends and family to join the Facebook LIVE.
