ATTENTION: FIRST TIME BUYING A HOUSE?

RULE 1:
double check if the house belongs to the seller. Ask for a copy of title deed or ask a conveyancer to do a deeds search on the property.
Rule 2:
Double check if the conveyancer(who will transfer the property into your name) is in good standing with Legal Practice Council. You can find out by requesting his/her firm details or firm practice number and confirm with LPC.
Rule 3:
Never deposit money directly to the seller. Money must be deposited into the trust account of the conveyancer until registration of the property.
This is a free legal advise since its Friday. If you have questions you will now pay because you are now consulting.
