Be on the Look Out for Measles!

Measles cases continue to rise in South Africa, which is why it’s important that members of the public are aware of the more common measles symptoms which include:
a high fever with a rash,
cough,
running nose, and
conjunctivitis (red eyes).
Call your doctor straight away if you suspect your child has measles. Also, if your child has been in contact with someone who has measles, especially if your child:
– is an infant
– is taking medicines that suppress the immune system
– has tuberculosis, cancer, or a disease that affects the immune system.
