It has been a very challenging year for non-profit organisations and animal shelters as funding coffers have run dry, due, in part, to the global pandemic.
Dotsure.co.za has stepped in to donate R200 000 to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) and also committed to feeding a shelter puppy for a month for every online policy sold.
The AACL is South Africa’s second largest independent animal welfare organisation, dedicated to protecting and caring for animals in South Africa.
The organisation is involved in all aspects of animal welfare, from providing shelter for abandoned animals to promoting adoption programmes and prosecuting animal cruelty cases. It relies entirely on the generosity and goodwill of animal lovers for financial support.
“Through the amazing support from dotsure.co.za, we’re able to look at not only giving support to our communities through outreach programmes and feeding schemes, but being able to move forward and developing new projects to ensure the health and well-being of vulnerable animals,” says AACL marketing manager Carren Nickloes.
“We thank dotsure.co.za and its clients for recognising the work we do, enabling us to give services to the community safely and to continue with our commitment to the care and protection of animals,” she adds.
Nickloes says an ever-increasing number of stray and abandoned animals are handed over to the AACL every month. Thus, the team at AACL is “grateful to dotsure.co.za for its continued and generous support to the animals in our care”.
“This donation forms part of dotsure.co.za’s many efforts to support and ensure the welfare of animals in South Africa,” says dotsure.co.za Chief Operating Officer David Roache.
“At dotsure.co.za, we are passionate about helping vulnerable animals. This has been a challenging period and we want to ensure that organisations like the AACL are not left behind,” concludes Roache.
