The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) will once again celebrate the remarkable women of the province when it hosts the Vita Basadi Awards on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
For more than a decade, the Vita Basadi Awards have recognised Gauteng women whose selfless service, courage, creativity and leadership continue to uplift communities and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Nominated by members of the public, the nominees represent the many women and girl children who demonstrate resilience, compassion and leadership, often without seeking recognition or reward.
The awards will recognise outstanding women across a range of categories, reflecting the diverse contributions of women across Gauteng. In addition, the Hon. Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Morakane Mosupyoe, will confer two prestigious accolades: the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Speaker’s Special Award.
