With support from ActionAid Nigeria, we have kicked off the Youth Green Ventures Program, bringing together 30 young people from across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The training started off with an introduction to agroecology, a farming approach that supports both environmental sustainability and community well-being. The day was crowned by a practical session on compost fertilizer handled by our facilitator, Dr Abdullahi Baba.
Attendees were taught the process of soil composting, its significance, and how it’s beneficial to improve quality-rich soil and boost crop production.
It was a practical and eye-opening experience, showing how organic waste can be turned into something valuable for farming.
This kickoff couldn’t have been better timed, as it aligns with the spirit of International Youth Day. The Youth Green Ventures Program offers experiential opportunities to help equip these young leaders with practical skills to address pressing challenges such as unemployment and food insecurity, all while lending a hand towards environmental sustainability.
We eagerly anticipate the positive impact these young leaders will have in their communities and beyond – By YouthHubAfrica!
