| By YouthHub Africa I hope you’re not already exhausted from trying so hard to become a “brand new person” overnight. Every January, we’re told to reset everything. New goals. New habits. New promises. New version of ourselves. And while there’s something exciting about a fresh start, I’ve been thinking: what happens to the old goals? The ones we set last year but didn’t actually finish? Here’s the truth: they don’t disappear just because the calendar flipped. They don’t vanish into thin air. They are still there, quietly waiting, and that’s okay. |

| A friend and I were discussing this recently. She reminded me that some goals are long-term. Just because the calendar flipped doesn’t mean they’re no longer valid. Those unfinished goals? They’re still worth pursuing. Not achieving something last year doesn’t mean you failed; it means you’ve learned, grown, and can approach it differently this year.So this year, I’m doing things a little differently.Instead of burying last year’s goals, I’m revisiting them. What worked? What didn’t? What needs adjusting rather than abandoning? I’m paying attention to the gaps, because sometimes we don’t fall short due to lack of ability, but because our plans aren’t realistic. This year, I’m asking myself: what can I do differently? And most importantly, I’m celebrating effort, not just results. Even attempting what I didn’t finish last year counts, and it’s proof of courage, growth, and commitment. 2026 is about progress, simple wins, and understanding and learning from the past instead of erasing it.Reply to this email with one thing you’re committing to this week. It can be anything from finishing a book or decluttering your space. Let’s celebrate the tiny wins together! |
