Any parent can tell you how difficult this is. Important to make sure that milk weaning is being done well and replaced with nutritional meals at this age that keep them full for longer.
There are a lot of tips that are given but those I have seen work is:
i. Having a routine of making baby sleep at night: dim lights and ensuring baby sleep at the same time every night, ocean music, reading a book before sleep.
ii. Stretching feeding times, wait a little longer before feeding (start small and increase response times: 5 minutes, then 10 minutes etc or 15 minutes to 30 minutes waiting period) do it gradually and not cold turkey.
iii. Feed 3 meals and 2 snacks at this age before sleep time (3 hourly)
iv. Some babies do well with a “dream feed” last top up before sleep but others don’t it does the opposite. So, learn which one your baby is.
v. Be patient and consistent.
