Martin Sweet – Managing Director at Primestars,
We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to address recent announcements regarding the closure of some of Ster Kinekor’s cinemas and reassure you about the continuity of Primestars programs amidst these changes.
From the footprint affected by the closures, we want to assure you that Primestars remains unaffected. In fact, we have contingency plans in place to mitigate any potential disruptions to our operations. While some sites may be impacted, we have the flexibility to substitute certain venues with Nu Metro cinemas, and in other cases, we will utilise our ‘mobile cinema’ model to ensure program delivery.
Furthermore, our partnerships extend beyond Ster Kinekor, with national collaborations in place with Nu Metro and Movies@ cinema groups. This diversified approach to venue selection ensures that our programs can continue seamlessly, regardless of changes in individual cinema chains.
It’s also important to note that the closure of Ster-Kinekor cinemas will not happen immediately. These closures are to be executed in consultation with the landlords and therefore not all sites will close at once. Many locations are looking at a turnaround periods which will allow ample time to plan and adjust accordingly. Rest assured, we are closely monitoring the situation and will adapt our strategies as needed to ensure minimal impact on our programs.
In summary, Primestars remains committed to our mission of empowering youth through education and remains fully operational despite the changes in the cinema landscape. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding as we navigate these developments.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
