Tracey is a recognised expert on corporate governance, responsible investment and shareholder activism. She has participated in a number of steering committees and advisory boards related to business and social justice, and the achievement of a just transition to a low-carbon economy and is a columnist for the Financial Mail.
Tracey holds a BA LLB from UCT and an LLM from New York University. She is admitted as an attorney in South Africa and as a solicitor in England & Wales.
Tracey says: “Inequality and climate change pose significant challenges to the economy, but these are also the two issues where corporate influence has an enormous impact on the government’s response.
“As a result, we have a climate change regulatory regime of limited effectiveness, we are still waiting for laws on wage gap disclosure to take effect, and there is consistent push-back against initiatives related to a basic minimum income and increasing the minimum wage.”
