Petco and SANParks are collaborating on an exciting new recycling pilot project in the Kruger National Park that is set to divert tonnes of waste destined for landfill and incorporate it into the country’s circular economy.
With over 43 000 food and beverage items sold to visitors passing through the Tshokwane picnic site alone over the festive season, this is a hotspot for recovering valuable recyclable packaging.
The three-bin system makes separation at source easier – dividing waste into recyclable packaging, non-recyclable packaging, and food waste – and more dignified for collectors.
