“I think a lot about him.”
Those are the words of Unecebo Mboteni’s grandmother. And they say everything.
“Unecebo was a curious, energetic, brilliant little boy. He loved touching everything, opening toys to see what was inside, and running to cars when visitors arrived. At his crèche, the other children would sing his name when he walked in.” Unecebo was loved.
He was full of life.
He should still be here.
Last year, Unecebo died after falling into a pit toilet – a preventable tragedy that should never have happened to any child. No family should be forced to grieve because basic safety was ignored.
Today, Unecebo’s family is still waiting for justice.
By taking action, you can help demand accountability for Unecebo’s death and push for an end to unsafe sanitation that continues to put children’s lives at risk.

Unecebo was more than a statistic. He was a child with a future, and one that was taken far too soon
Thank you for standing with his family and for using your voice to demand justice.
In solidarity,
