The early data points to excellent news for both petrol and diesel motorists in South Africa in April 2025. Vehicle owners saw a marginal decrease in the cost of both petrol and diesel last week.
Since then, South Africa’s rand rose to its highest level against the US dollar in nearly three months days later. This comes as concerns grow over President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, which are fueling fears of a prolonged global trade war that could harm economic growth and increase inflation.
As a result, the price of brent crude oil has also dropped.

Petrol 93 decrease of 79 cents
Petrol 95 decrease of 91 cents
Diesel 0.05% decrease of 81 cents
