President Cyril Ramaphosa will today, 25 November, be in the National Assembly (NA) in a hybrid plenary sitting to answer questions for an oral reply to the NA Members of Parliament at 14:00.
Holding regular quarterly question and answer sessions by the President, Deputy President, and the Cabinet Ministers is one of the methods in which Parliament, as specified in section 92(2) of the Constitution, holds the Executive to account.
The questions to be posed to President Ramaphosa will cover a range of issues, including:
- The government’s plans to reform Eskom and address the electricity crisis?
- Terms and conditions of the R131 billion loan for the country’s transition from coal to clean energy?
- Government plans to ensure communities enjoy stability, service delivery, and regulatory accountability post the Local Government elections?
- How does the government intend to realign the outdated Integrated Resource Plan 2010-2030 policy?
- How far is the Presidential Task Team on Military Veterans addressing the issues raised by the Military Veterans who took an unprecedented approach to hold members of the Executive hostage?
