S’godiphola Secondary School was established in 2008. It is the second high in Cosmo City – north of Johannesburg (the first public private partnership worth R3.5Billion in South Africa).
Cosmo City emerged out of an urgent need to provide accommodation for the informal settlers of Zevenfontein and Riverbend who had been illegally occupying privately owned land 25km North West of Johannesburg CBD.
“We thank God that we are here today. It is the school’s culture to bring the matric class a week earlier so that they get all their study material and teaching starts when schools open. If we work together, we will get good results. We will need Grade 12 learners that will listen and put in the effort to get great results. The educators are ready to teach, encourage and motivate the learners to do their best. Proper school uniforms and decent appearances will be demanded – attitudes and mindsets should change and we need to see responsible matriculants,” said Principal Reginah Mpete.
The school was given the name S’godiphola Secondary School by the informal settlers who moved to Cosmo City.
