President Cyril Ramaphosa will today deliver the eulogy at the State Memorial Service of former apartheid President FW de Klerk in Cape Town. The memorial event will kick start around 10:30 until 12:30.
Former apartheid president FW de Klerk, was laid to rest on Sunday 21 November 2021 in what his foundation said would be a private service. The FW de Klerk Foundation previously stated that no media would be allowed to attend the cremation. The funeral service was held at an undisclosed venue. The Presidency said government will host a State Memorial Service, at a future date, in remembrance of De Klerk for his role as former Deputy President.
He succumbed to cancer in his Cape Town home at age 85.
