When a loved one is living with Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder, it can affect the whole family. Many caregivers carry the pressure of trying to understand the condition while balancing daily responsibilities, worry and uncertainty. Our Mental Health Support Group is designed for family members and caregivers who are looking for a place where honest conversations about caregiving, boundaries, burnout and hope can happen without judgement.
It is a space centred not only on supporting your loved one, but also on caring for yourself along the way. In support of World Schizophrenia Awareness Day on 24th May 2026, the South African Federation for Mental Health (SAFMH), Family Support for Schizophrenia (FSS), and The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) collaborated on a short e-zine to highlight stories and letters of people living with Schizophrenia and their loved ones.
