41% experienced barriers to treatment, including travel difficulties, long waiting times, and disruptions to daily responsibilities.
92% reported physical side effects related to treatment.
86% experienced emotional challenges such as anxiety, fear of recurrence or progression, and concerns about compromised immunity.
In South Africa, these challenges may be compounded by long travel distances to specialist treatment centres, financial pressures, uncertainty around referral pathways, and limited access to information or psychosocial support.
