Not in my Name International is aware that 10 people have been declared dead in Hammanskraal due to an outbreak of gastrointestinal infection that is spread through contaminated water or food.
We are also aware that Hammanskraal has had a water crisis for years and tests state that the water is not safe for consumption. In 2019, we provided over 100 000L of water with your help.
To aid the crisis, we want to tap into our pool of resources again instead of telling residents that they should not drink water.
“I would like us to pray for the land of Hammanskraal and the current status that we in as there is an outbreak of diarrhea infection, people are dying because of water in Hammanskraal, water is source of live, instead in Hammanskraal it is source of death so let’s pray for this outbreak to stop and also pray for a permanent solution over this water crisis in our land”, says Phela ka Thapelo.
“The provision of clean water to communities is the preserve of local government, the DA has been in charge of Tshwane since 2016.
“If the mayor of Tshwane was Geordin Hill-Lewis or Christopher Pappas, do you think they would have resolved the water crisis & avoided the unnecessary death of people?
“Personally, I think they would have and the current leaders of the DA in Tshwane have failed the communities of Hammanskraal,: says Maurice Khendla.
