This year, as we commemorate World Bipolar Day on Saturday, 30 March 2024, we find ourselves reflecting not only on the challenges faced by individuals with Bipolar Disorder but also on the incredible strength and resilience they demonstrate each day. We are reminded of the profound significance of World Bipolar Day, an occasion that not only raises awareness but also fosters understanding and support for those living with Bipolar Disorder worldwide.
In conjunction with World Bipolar Day, the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is proud to stand alongside the global community in celebrating the theme of #BipolarStrong. This powerful hashtag summarises the unwavering determination and courage shown by individuals navigating the complexities of Bipolar Disorder. It serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of all that strength can be found even amid adversity. Being “Bipolar Strong” also means having the strength of empathy. Specifically, empathy for the people who need it the most.
Throughout the week leading up to the 30th of March we will be celebrating World Bipolar Day, make sure to follow our social media channels for more updates. We invite you to join us in honouring those living with Bipolar Disorder and spreading a message of hope and solidarity. Whether it’s through sharing personal stories, participating in educational initiatives, or simply offering a listening ear to those in need, each of us has the power to make a difference.
