This year marks eight years since Popi Qwabe and Bongeka Phungula were brutally murdered, and still, their families have no justice, no closure, and no answers.
In 2023, thanks to your support, we stood outside the National Prosecuting Authority and demanded that this case not be forgotten. That action led to a formal inquest being opened into their deaths. But nearly two years later, the wheels of justice are at a halt.
That’s why we are calling on you once again.

Amnesty International South Africa is organising a stunt outside the Protea Magistrate’s Court to demand an urgent update for this long-overdue case. The time for silence has passed. Popi and Bongeka deserve truth, accountability, and justice.
Please note that transport will not be provided. Attendees will need to make their own way to the venue.
