As we observe World Suicide Prevention Day, our focus for this year’s campaign is ‘Hope Starts with Talking’. It is a powerful reminder that every voice matters, every struggle is valid, and no one should walk this journey alone.
At SADAG, we are committed to being there for every person in need. We operate the only Suicide Crisis Helpline in South Africa, and the urgency of our work is clearer than ever.
With 1 in 4 calls, we receive being Suicide-related, we witness the silent despair of many. Yet, in every call, we also hear a glimmer of hope, a person bravely reaching out for help.
During this campaign we have various activities lined up from in-person to online activities and our online toolkit is filled with information and guidance for everyone.
Our helpline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every single day of the year, ensuring a compassionate voice is always on the other end of the line.
