Discover how to have productive climate conversations, distinguish between climate myths and truths, and learn more about climate solutions at our event cohosted by the African Climate Alliance.

The climate crisis is serious. But if climate conversations leave us feeling more anxious, overwhelmed, or alienated from others, then something important is missing.

That’s why we’ve launched Climate Hope – a campaign that aims to debunk common climate myths, share evidence-based climate truths, and highlight the solutions that are already helping to build a safer, healthier and more affordable future, even if not yet at the necessary scale.

Join us for the launch of Climate Hope and an afternoon of conversation about power in all its forms – how it is generated, who benefits from it, and how we can ensure that South Africa’s energy future is both clean and just.

We’ll be screening the latest Politically Aweh video, exploring how to have more constructive conversations about climate change, and hearing from a panel of researchers and civil society experts. There will be plenty of time for questions, discussion, and debate.

Afterwards, over a late lunch, you’ll have the chance to continue the conversation with speakers and fellow attendees.

Climate Hope arises from the knowledge that while the challenges we face are formidable, solutions already exist. Across South Africa and around the world, people are already working to build a safer future. The more we understand what works, the more power we have to make that future a reality.

While Climate Hope’s information is online, there will be booklets available at the event in isiXhosa, isiZulu, Afrikaans, and English.
