This year, Untitled Basement will host an after party in Braamfontein in honour of Maria McCloy (5 September 18:00) , who we lost earlier this year.
Maria was much more than a PR specialist. She was a committed champion of culture, someone who understood the importance of building platforms, creating connections and advocating for the people shaping Johannesburg’s cultural landscape.
The evening will celebrate her life, her contribution and the community she helped build.
Born in the United Kingdom to a Mosotho mother and an English father, McCloy had recently celebrated her 50th birthday.
She was surrounded by close friends and entertainment industry figures.The beloved creative was widely respected for her groundbreaking work as a DJ, publicist, and fashion designer.
