Police have found the bodies of nine women in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa, since July 15, 2026. Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia said on Sunday, September 20, that police cannot confirm the cases are linked, citing different modus operandi and motives.
A man and two women, arrested over Jabulile Ntimba’s murder, appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 21.
Lieutenant General Hilda Senthumule is leading the strengthened multidisciplinary investigation team.
Police have opened an inquest after finding an unidentified woman’s body in a Soweto dam and have not linked it to these cases. Women, including runners in Kempton Park, have protested, demanding an end to the killings.
