I am the township crier
that makes loud sounds
begging for my African brothers and sisters’ lives
I am that African sister who implores
peace upon my brothers
I am those sad tears of a mother
whose son has been burnt beyond recognition?
I am the betrayal between
natives and foreigners
I am those denial words that echo
“You don’t belong here”
You don’t belong here!
You are not my Brother!
I am the overnight where neighbours suddenly become enemies
It is that time again where South Africans have issues
accepting our fellow neighbours
and deliberately act with violence.
Oh home bitter home
my home land has never been this life threatening
as it is today my black nation has never been so red of blood
My home is a prison
divided against itself by
ethnicity, language and nationality
Oh home bitter sour home
hopes for peace, love and together as one have been shattered
Ropes have been pulled and we are not one
we are apart far from home pulled from home…. Let’s STOP!
