Are you a South African student planning to study economics at university in 2027?

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is inviting applications for its 2027 External Bursary Programme, supporting prospective undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate strong academic performance and financial need.

🎁 What Does It Support?

The bursary is available for undergraduate studies in:

✅ Economics
✅ Economics & Econometrics
✅ Economics & Mathematical Statistics
✅ Economic Science.

👥 Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

✔️ Enter their first year of university in 2027
✔️ Have provisional acceptance into an eligible programme
✔️ Be under 30 years old
✔️ Demonstrate financial need
✔️ Achieve at least 70% overall, including 70%+ in English and Mathematics.
